PHEW! We made through our first week of Distance Learning. Thank you all for your grace and understanding as we navigate this new platform and as we learn and lead together. I too understand that this is HARD and at times exhausting. I have a high schooler who too is learning at home, I am reminded that I need to take a deep breath take a moment and embrace the notion that I might not know how to teach Integrated Math 2 and that I am NOT his teacher and that he DID NOT learn it that way and that is OK! I am doing the best that I can and in the time that he has been working on his studies at home...it does get easier, a routine has been created and I now am amazing at Integrated Math 2 ...or I like to think so! =)
We are al doing our best and we are all in this together. Some things to keep in mind:
- You do not need to do all of the work at once.
- Work in chunks of time and then take a brain or movement break.
- Celebrate the little things because they are BIG right now
- Communicate with your child's teacher we are all learning together.
- Acknowledge that we are all doing our best.
If your family is in need of other support at this time, there are a few helpful resources in this blog. You can also reach out to your child's teacher or me and we can get you in contact with supports for your family.
Thank you so much for your continued support of your children and the TJ staff I am humbled to be a part of such a caring and supportive community that continues to RISE together!
Stay safe and be well,
Kirsten Acke
