HELLO TJ Stars!
I hope you had a wonderful Spring Break, the weather could have not been more perfect, I loved the big storm last week. It reminded me that simple things can bring great joy. It has been wonderful following your adventures in cooking, gardening, chalk art and in your Google Classrooms on Facebook over the past few weeks. Please know that we miss seeing your faces, the warm hugs and the simplest things like blowing the recess whistle, with that being said we are looking forward to moving forward with on-line distance learning on Tuesday, April 14, 2020.
Our Thomas Jefferson Teachers have been preparing for virtual learning During the remainder of the school year teachers will be focusing on reading, writing, and math; other activities may be included as optional activities if you would like your child to do more.
There were also be PE activities and of course Music! PE and music will be loaded into your child's teacher's Google Classroom. The classroom teachers will also be checking in with your child each week using either Zoom or Google Meet. This will provide face to face interaction and connection and continue for foster a community of learners and leaders and allow our Stars to RISE!
Teachers will be uploading lesson templates for two weeks at a time so parents can see and plan if needed. This does not mean that you have to do everything ahead of time. This simply gives you the flexibility to do things when it works for you and your family. We recognize that may parents are working from home and others may be watching your children why you work.
Each day will start with a morning message that will review what is expected for the day with an explanation of the learning.
If you have not yet signed into your child's Google Classroom PLEASE contact your child's teacher and as always, continue to stay in communication with your child's teacher.
We are all in this together!
Be well,
Kirsten Acke

Starstruck
With the school closure being extended, we are going to have to cancel Starstruck. I know that our Stars only had one more rehearsal and we are all disappointed that this event cannot take place. It is a tradition for sure!
Thomas Jefferson still needs to pay this local business for the practices that were held prior to the school closure. With that being said, if you would like to donate your ticket purchase to pay for the practices that would be greatly appreciated any remaining monies will be placed into an account to pay it forward for next years show.
If you would like a refund please complete this form and our office staff will begin to process these requests. Please complete the following form by Friday, April 17th, 2020: StarStruck Refund Request. If you have questions please email Kristy Fritz :kfritz@rcsdk8.org
