Hello TJ Families!

WOW! There are four weeks left of school! The weather has turned and we are entering the summer months. As it gets warmer it is important that our TJ Stars bring a water bottle to school every day. There are cups available in the classroom but personal water bottles are much easier.

At Thomas Jefferson, we are always looking to improve our practice and your feedback is valuable as we reflect on this past year and as we look forward to upcoming years. Please take a moment to complete the parent survey below:

We have noticed an increase in families not calling the school or filling out the Online Absence Report when their child is absent. The online form is an easy way to let the school know that your child will not be in school. If your child has missed school please contact the office, 916-771-1840.

Dear Thomas Jefferson Families,

Next week is one of our favorite weeks of the year! It is Staff Appreciation Week! Please see the attached flyer with all of the details of how our students will be involved in celebrating our Staff. We also sent home an Orange color copy of the flier with your students this week.

Thank you to all of the volunteers who quickly filled up our donation requests on the Signup Genius. Please bring all of the donations to the Office on Monday morning 5/3 by 10am.

We will be posting daily reminders on our Facebook page.

Here is a brief reminder of the student participation schedule for next week:

Monday 5/3– Write a Thank-you Note – Words of gratitude mean so much to our staff.

Tuesday 5/4 –Bring in a favorite Treat or gift card for a treat! Store-bought treats only (per Covid restrictions) our staff loves our “sweet students”.

Wednesday 5/5 – Bring a Flower to your favorite TJ Staff! (Large Mason Jar Vases will be provided)

Thursday 5/6 – Bring a Book to help your classroom library grow!

Friday 5/7 –Super TROPICAL School Spirit day! Wear something tropical or bright colors and bring in a school supply or cleaning product to restock our staff cupboards!

ORDER 2021-22 School Supplies

Thomas Jefferson offers the EduKit program as a convenient option for busy families to order school supplies for the 2021/2022 year. You may order your kits at this time. A portion of the proceeds will directly benefit Thomas Jefferson PTC! These kits are filled with the EXACT supplies requested by our teachers. Your student’s order will be in the classroom on the first day of school. Extended ordering is available June 15 – July 9 for an additional fee and will be delivered to your home shortly before school begins.

Music Corner

Don’t forget to do your music lessons every week! In April we learned all about jazz music. In May we will bring together the Community Songs we sang throughout the year. We hope our lessons inspire your family to make music together!
