August 29th

We are all excited as the year has now gotten into full swing, and our staff continues to work hard to give our students the best educational experience possible.  We are continuing to plan upcoming events for the students in the next few weeks, including assemblies, new technology experiences, PTC events, including the Dance A-Thon and upcoming Awards Assemblies to acknowledge our Stars for demonstrating the

R.I.S.E.

expectations of being Respectful, showing Integrity, being Safe and being Engaged.

Our goal is to support your student in the best way that we can.  Our teachers are finishing up with the beginning of the year assessments and can now truly focus on meeting every student's needs and give their students an enriching and fun educational environment!
Our hope is that you check the Blog weekly for important news on TJ school events, upcoming dates of importance, reminders of school procedures, and flyers from our RCSD community that help to enrich the lives of our students and families!

September will be a GREAT month!  The character trait of the month is COOPERATION.  Please take a moment to talk with your Star about the importance of being cooperative and a team player in life.  We will be highlighting this life skill in our classrooms, on the playground, and in our daily activities.

We hope you have a WONDERFUL three-day weekend!

Mrs. Acke and the TJ Team

Good Attendance starts now.
Attending school regularly helps children feel better about school and themselves.  Start building these habits as early as possible so they learn right away that going to school one time, every day is important.  Always remember that attendance starts at home.
Things to remember
  • many absences can cause children to fall behind in school.
  • Students can still fall behind if they miss just a day or two every few weeks.
  • Being late or leaving early may Too lead to poor attendance.
  • Absences can affect the whole classroom if the teacher has to slow down learning to help children catch up.
How you can help
  • Set a regular bedtime and morning routine.
  • Layout clothes and pack backpacks the night before.
  • Do not let your child stay home unless they are truly sick.  Keep in mind complaints of a stomach ache or headache can be a sign of anxiety and not a reason to stay home.
  • If the child feels anxious about going to school, talk to the teachers, Mrs. or other parents for advice on how to make them feel comfortable and excited about learning.
  • Avoid medical appointments during school hours and extended trips when school is in session,
  • PLEASE leave a voicemail with Your student’s name, teacher’s name and the reason why the student is not in class.
