Week of August 13-17, 2018

The first two days of school were amazing!  It was so wonderful to see so many of our TJ Stars returning after the summer break and to welcome our new Stars to school!  I know that the summer was short, but I have heard from our Stars that memories were made. I was fortunate enough to venture to a conference with a few of our teachers to learn about student engagement and creating JOY in our classrooms and to visit one of my favorite places on Earth: DISNEYLAND!

As embrace the end of summer celebrations and move forward to creating new school memories; I am thrilled to be here at Thomas Jefferson and to be a part of such a great community!  This school year we will continue to RISE and become Star Polishers.  Taking the time to show Respect, demonstrate Integrity, be Safe and be Engaged all while taking our buffing cloths when needed to polish of the tarnish of a bad day...so that all Stars will SHINE!

It is a GREAT day to be a TJ Star!

CLOSED CAMPUS PROCEDURES BEGIN TOMORROW

MONDAY, AUGUST 13, 2018

Beginning tomorrow Monday, August 13, 2017, only students will be permitted to enter the campus at the first bell.

KINDERGARTEN will enter through the SIDE GATE.
TK and GRADES 1-5 will enter through the FRONT GATE.
(TK PARENTS - Mrs. O'Hair will be at the gate this week to greet and teach the morning arrival expectations.)

Adults who are volunteering on campus MUST come to the office and sign in after the second bell has rung.  While we understand that this may be inconvenient it will allow the office to complete their morning business and allow morning supervision and arrival of students to be supervised by school staff.  We thank you in advance for your support of the safety of our Stars.

Please remember that when dropping off students and picking up students there are a few guidelines we all must follow:

  1. When in the loops, do not park in either loop, the intent of the loop is to create a flow of traffic as we load and unload students.  If you need to come to the office or meet with a teacher please park in a parking spot.
  2. Please do not drive around stopped cars.  There are times when a vehicle may have been asked to stop by a staff member and to ensure student safety.
  3. Use the crosswalks.  Please use the crosswalk by the Kindergarten playground to cross the street if you are parked across the street.
  4. Please DRIVE SAFELY, if you are in a rush please keep in mind that there are children arriving to school and a few minutes could save a child's life.

THANK YOU FOR BEING PATIENT AND RISING AT THOMAS JEFFERSON!

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School.  Please note that every volunteer must be fingerprinted and have an updated TB test on file with the school district.  For further information CLICK HERE to access the Roseville City School District's Volunteer Information webpage.
