April 4-8, 2022

 

Dear Thomas Jefferson Families,

 

For the last six years, I have been fortunate to be the principal of Thomas Jefferson Elementary.  The students, staff, and families make the school a special place where we RISE together every day.  

 

It is with heartfelt words and very mixed emotions that I write this letter to inform you that as of April 8, 2022, I will be leaving the position of principal of Thomas Jefferson and beginning in a new position as the Director of Prevention and Supports at the Placer County Office of Education. Although I will miss our school family terribly, I look forward to the challenges this new position has to offer.  It is with great sadness that I will be leaving, but I am grateful for the opportunity to continue contributing to the education of the children in Placer County and across the State of California. 

 

It has been a pleasure to serve as the principal at TJ and I hope you know how much I have loved my time with our amazing community. We are a community that RISES together no matter what comes our way. Thomas Jefferson is a special place to be!

 

Mr. Marc Buljan will be joining the TJ team as the interim principal until the end of the school year.  Mr. Buljan has been a long-time educator and administrator in RCSD. Please join me in welcoming him to Thomas Jefferson! The hiring process for a permanent principal starting with the 2022-23 school year will begin soon. I am confident that our district will select a great leader to help our school continue what we have built.    

 

Thank you for all your support over the past six years.  Although I am excited about this next opportunity, I will miss the daily ins and outs of being a Star at Thomas Jefferson.  I will miss the staff, the kids, and each of you. I’m going to soak up every minute these last couple of weeks and savor every moment.
