February 22-26, 2021

Happy Friday TJ Stars!

Parent-Teacher Conference Week is next week!.  If you have not scheduled your Parent-Teacher Conference please contact your child's teacher as soon as possible. We are looking forward to meeting you all.

Please see the important information below:

SCHOOL HOURS - There will be Minimum Days

Kindergartener schedule: 8:30-11:30 am

  • ALL KINDERGARTEN STUDENTS WILL ATTEND AT THIS TIME.
  • There will be playground supervision from 11:30-11:50 for the Kinder's who have siblings on campus to accommodate one pick-up time for families. Please communicate your pick-up plan with your child's teacher

1st through 5th schedule: 8:30-11:50 am.

ADDITIONAL HOME INSTRUCTIONAL MINUTES

Due to the minimum day schedule and it is required that grades 1-3 be assigned 45 minutes and grades 4 and 5 be assigned 55 mins of independent at-home work to ensure the full amount of educational minutes are met. Your child's teacher will communicate what that independent work will be. Thank you for your partnership. This work can be found on the Otus Portal.

NUTRITION BREAKS

There will be one Nutrition Break during Conference Week.  Grab and Go Lunches will still be provided.

REPORT CARDS

Report Cards will be emailed home on the evening of  Friday, February 19, 2021, to inform you of your child's progress prior to the Parent-Teacher Conference.  Please note that you may receive one child's report card before another.  The process of emailing report cards for the entire school can take hours.  You should have your child's report card by Saturday morning.  If you do not receive a report card for your child please contact our office Monday morning, 916-771-1840.

As you prepare to meet with your child's teacher it is important to remember that your child's school experience has been very different since last March.  There have been many twists and turns, but the positive side of this is that we are now headed in the right direction and we are on the straight path. Please note that since learning looked very different while we were in virtual classrooms students may not be where we would normally expect them to be this time of the year.  It is important that we embrace the power of YET, they will get there!  The conferences are a time to hear about the progress that they have made this year and to hear about supports that are happening here at school and how you can support learning at home.

Please see the RCSD Weekly Communication HERE.
