Happy New Year

Dear TJ Stars,
We hope that your Winter Break was filled with rest, family and celebrations.

2016 was an eventful year for us – Stars – and as it came to a close, we would like to thank you for all the dedication and support of Thomas Jefferson. December was a month filled with wonderful traditions and events and it was wonderful to see our school community come together to support one another and others. There is still much work to do for the remainder of the school year and our staff is ready for the challenge!

Student Leadership RISES to Support Local Homeless

Our amazing Student Leadership Team bagged over 200 hospitality bags for the homeless shelters in the area. The items were donated by students at Thomas Jefferson and generous community members!  WAY to go TJ Leadership!  You are truly RISING Stars!

Student Leadership at work.

PBIS at Thomas Jefferson

The staff is excited about the relaunch of PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention and Support) at Thomas Jefferson.  This multi-tiered support model creates systems and structures to support ALL students during their school day.  We will be launching our new acronym and umbrella expectations to the students when they return on Wednesday, January 11, 2017.  The new umbrella expectations are guidelines and words that are used in explaining common agreements about behavior on campus.  We are proud to announce that Thomas Jefferson Star umbrella acronym will be
Respect
Integrity
Safe
Engaged.

Students will be able to earn Star Bucks for demonstrating these life skills and for meeting expectations.  These Star Bucks can be used at our NEW student store.  If you are interested in donating to our student store please see Mrs. Acke.

For more information about PBIS at Thomas Jefferson please see our school website.
