Parent Teacher Conferences are the week of November 14-18, 2016. Attending Parent Teacher Conferences is an important part of your child' education.  Over the next couple of weeks please see the blog for conference information and insights. Below are a few things you can do to help create an even more beneficial conference.
  • Talk with your child before conferences about any concerns or questions.  Ask what he would like you to talk about and what he thinks the teacher will say.
  • Think about questions you would like to ask and jot them down.  some suggestions might be grade level curriculum, homework expectations, work habits, social skills, attendance, and home support.
  • Share items you want the teacher to know about you child such as outside interests, medical concerns, or special needs.
  • Keep and open mind – remember both you and the teacher want your child to succeed.
  • After the conference talk with your child about what was discussed.  Emphasize the positive and discuss a plan to make needed changes.
  • Keep in touch with the teacher.  E-mail is a quick and easy way to communicate between home and school.  Be sure you exchange e-mail addresses.
