Starstruck - Dancing with the Jacksons!

The children will be performing two identical shows on the evening that they perform; one at 6:00 and another one at 7:00. Please drop off your child at their classroom at 5:45 PM.  Doors will open for the first show at that time. We will be clearing the Multi-Purpose Room after each show. All students performing on their respective night are required to stay for both shows. We are requesting a note for any student who will not be able to perform that evening as every absent student leaves a gap in the performance.

CASSPP Testing Grades 3-5

California’s academic standards are designed so students graduate ready for college and a career. One way we measure their progress is through the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) assessments. Students across California in grades 3–8 and high school take these assessments each spring. These tests were created specifically to gauge each student’s performance in English language arts/literacy (ELA), mathematics, and science. These tests measure the skills called for by the academic standards, including the ability to write clearly, think critically, and solve problems.

Because CAASPP tests are given statewide, they provide an opportunity to measure the skills of all students against the same academic standards. Given online, the tests are computer-adaptive, allowing more precise measurement of individual skills.

For further information please see the letter link below, that was emailed home earlier this week.

There will be weekly updates and parent information added to the blog as we approach the testing window. This years testing window is from April 24- May 26, 2017.

Your Art to Remember keepsake order form came home in last week's Friday Folder. This is a popular fundraiser that celebrates your child's art work and all proceeds fund our Art Docent program and help pay for art supplies. These keepsakes make great gifts for Mother's & Father's day, so plan ahead. You have ONE week to place your order as the forms are due next Friday, March 10th!!

Read Across America Week was such fun.  TJville is a great place to be!

THANK YOU TJ PTC!

This year one of the goals of the PTC was to enable students to have success while learning in the classroom. One of our big projects was providing sensory items to each classroom. Thanks to the success of our fundraisers we were able to provide 10 sensory items per classroom. We ordered 220 for the whole school! The teachers chose between Bouncy Bands for chairs and Stability Wobble Cushions. It is our hope that these items will help our teachers and students to have a learning environment that meets the needs of all learners.
